Photosynthesis a great way to introduce students to the processes of nature and how we as humans interact with nature. This lesson can be taught over a short 45 minutes or implemented in a week long unit. The Photosynthesis WebQuest is created for 4th to 6th graders.
Earth day, spring, and summer are excellent times to start this lesson plan. This lesson can even be incorporated in lesson that involves planting and measuring plants as seen in science projects. The importance of Photosynthesis, processes, and how it directly relates to humans are great concepts to make this lesson meaningful to students' lives.
Here are some websites and books very useful in the process of Photosynthesis and its related topics aimed towards elementary school-aged children. Click on the links to explore them.
The Photosynthesis WebQuest meet various standards across the Grade Level Expectations in understanding the process of science. Here the link to the Alaska GLE standards for science below.
